Did you know ?

Langres was originally prepared at farms using warm cow’s milk poured into terra cotta moulds called “fromottes”. Once turned out, the cheese had to dry on lime tree leaves and then be matured on oat straw. This has been an “Appellation d’Origine Protégée” (Protected Designation of Origin) cheese since 2009, from the plateau where the town of Langres is located.

Langres Selection Affineur is produced in the Champagne region

Tasting suggestions

A Langres cheese will be a marvellous finish to your meal! It is also an ideal inclusion in starters, main courses or aperitif snacks, etc.
Knowledgeable gourmets pour Marc de Bourgogne (grape brandy) or champagne into the fountain-like hollow in the cheese and flambé it before tasting.

Langres PDO (Protected Designation of Origin) is ideally paired with a white or red Coteaux Champenois
